Post Game Recap by Dante Quazzo
The Stags held tight with the Afghanistan National team through the first half and pulled away in the second half, leading to a convincing 79-59 victory. The Stags had strong performances from Tyler Gaffaney, Mani Maceira, Chris Blees, and Joey Anderson en route to their first win of the season. The Afganis were led by JR Stephens and Haroun Arefi, as they began their five-game tour of southern California. Both teams held their collective breath when Kevin Sullivan (CMC ’13) went down with an injury to his left leg late in the fourth quarter. Preliminary reports indicate that it is an ankle sprain. The Stags led 36-30 at the half before pulling away with quality defense and transition buckets.
CMS will kick off official games on November 14th against Pacifica.
