Administration Plans Website Overhaul
October 27, 2010
The Forum
Hey everyone, If you haven't read their e-mail yet, Public Affairs is preparing to roll out an extensive overhaul of the college's website, with secondary features for mobile devices, in the beginning of 2011. Having been given a preview of their ideas, the Forum strongly encourages students to attend their two feedback sessions, on October 29 or November 5, where you will see some stunning new iterations of the site that serves as the chief gateway to the school. Over 80% of the material prospective students get on colleges is from the internet these days, and it is the primary way— next to the Forum, of course— for alumni to keep in touch. Such an image shift, then, has significant implications for the college.
From their e-mail:
As a natural extension of the College’s new graphic identity, we are working on a complete overhaul and redesign of the CMC Web Site and web environment. This includes the user interface, look and feel, the content management system, interactive components, and very importantly, social media and mobile applications.
Student input and discussion is critical to our success. Therefore, we are hosting two - student idea and input sessions. These will take place as follows:
Session 1
Date: Friday, October 29
Time: 12noon - 1:30pm
Location: Pickford Auditorium
Session 2
Date: Friday, November 5
Time: 12noon - 1:30pm
Location: Pickford Auditorium
Each session will be limited to the first 30 people who sign up. Pizza and beverages will be provided.
To participate, respond to the original e-mail sent to the student body.
