Watch out Girl Talk, DJ Earworm, and Milkman! There are other music mashup artists around--except, rather than using a hodgepodge of tracks from different songs, these artists are using audio tracks from movies and television to create their songs. They have mainstream legitimacy...and it's getting easier for others to follow in their footsteps. Using movies to create cool YouTube videos is nothing new--the classic (and inspirational) 40 Inspirational Speeches in 2 Minutes video has nearly 2 million hits. That's just the start though. You gotta check out the below video of Ricardo Autobahn's recently released song The Golden Age of Video, which utilizes famous movie and television quotes in a seamless rhyming scheme.

In another example of the power of movie mashups, Addictive TV has been around since 1992, and has utilized the songs and lyrics of movies in their albums and world-wide tours. While mainstream entertainment studios, and record labels have a habit of criticizing mashup artists' for borderline copyright infringement, Addictive TV has successful become mainstream. For example, their skill in video editing led to Paramount's request that they officially remix the trailer for the 2006 movie, Take the Lead, which starred Antonio Banderas:
