Maureen Dowd Visiting the Ath Tonight

Maureen Dowd, NY Times columnist, is coming to Claremont McKenna College for a dinner talk at the Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum tonight. A journalist with the Times for quite some time, Dowd won a Pulitzer Prize in 1999 for her work covering the Monica Lewinsky scandal.
Dowd has ignited controversy over the past few years for her sharp criticism and irreverent treatment of the Bush Administration, Clintons, and other politicians and celebrities. Dowd was also accused of sexism and "over the top" criticism of Hillary Clinton during the primary campaign cycle.
During the 2008 Presidential Campaign, Dowd made news when she was kicked off John McCain's campaign plane in September, left stranded at the Pittsburgh airport. The exact reasoning behind the McCain campaign's decision is relatively unknown; I hope she'll expound on that story and others tonight.
